Rules of Membership

Student Member
Any person studying towards a formal qualification which is examined and moderated by this Institute, must register as a Student Member. Your college will provide you with the necessary information and registration requirements.
Student Members do not have voting right and no designation.
The annual membership fee for this category of membership is shown below.

Affiliate Membership
An Affiliate of this Institute is a person who, although not qualified in Credit Management or does not work in a Credit environment, desires to be involved in the profession. An Affiliate does not have voting rights, and there is no designation. However, an Affiliate has the right to attend all the meetings of the Institute, and receives discounts for training courses offered by the Institute.
The annual membership fee for this category of membership is shown below.

Full Membership
Any learner of the Institute who has passed the Institute's International examination for the Certificate in Credit Management Part Two or is in possession of a Standard 10 or a Grade 12 Certificate, plus a minimum of three years completed study in any field of business science; or any person who has been employed full time in the field of Credit Management for three years.
Full Members have the designation MICM and have voting rights.

Associate Membership
Any member of the Institute who has graduated in the Institute's Certificate in Credit Management or any person with St. 10 (or Grade 12) plus four years completed study in any field of business science and who has been employed in the field of Credit Management full time for a minimum of one year or any person who has achieved the International Diploma in Credit Management and has been employed in the field of Credit Management full time for a period of two years
Associate Members have the designation AICM and have voting rights.

Corporate Membership
The Institute welcomes the involvement of businesses and any party interested in the furthering of the Credit Profession in Africa. Corporate Membership entitles four employees of the Member to participate in the activities and meetings of the Institute, to and gives the Corporate Member one vote at meetings of the Institute, and to serve on the Board of Institute, subject to the constitution of the Institute and the activities in the Country of residence of the Member. Meetings are held with Corporate Members on a regular basis to network and to receive guidance with the task of granting and controlling credit extension.

Fellows of the Institute
Once a year, the Board of Directors bestows Fellow Membership on members of the Institute, who have excelled in the Profession, have shown unselfish and unrivalled interest in the Profession, and have dedicated their time and energy to the furtherance of the Credit Management Profession in Africa.
Persons bestowed the honour of Fellow Membership have full voting rights and the designation FICM.
